The Inquiry
Public healthcare registration often overlooks migrants, immigrants, and impoverished individuals. We asked: Can automation bridge the divide between civic systems and the disenfranchised without compromising anonymity?
The Prototype
We designed a speculative "Healthcare ATM" using lab-on-a-chip technology. This system allows communities to exchange anonymous health data for care services. Using open-source technology, the IoT device connects to a decentralized system where data governance is delegated to the citizens themselves—allowing them to own, trade, or sell their data for local currency or services.
The Future Impact
Decentralized Care: A vision for a healthcare system where the "action-intention gap" is closed by technology that prioritizes privacy and access over bureaucracy.
Citizen Sovereignty: Demonstrating how data ownership can remain with the patient even in public health scenarios.
