The opposite of Legacy is Play. Legacy is bound to awareness of time—its ever-fleeting moments, and pushes up against its finitude. Play disregards all temporality, the infinite now is all that matters.
What is the fulcrum of their balance?
Could social intention be a useful frame to answer this question? Could social intention be a scale of time-based awareness where Legacy and Play reside at the extremes? Social intention can be described as two opposing vectors: solitude and connectivity. The magnitude of these vectors is a measure of a Theory of Mind (ToM).
